R&S Housing was born from a passion to create real change within the temporary and transitional housing sector.

Our Director, Sammi Newey, spent many years working within Worcestershire's Housing Options, gaining experience across repairs, compliance and frontline housing services. Her career progressed into Housing Options, where she eventually specialised in domestic abuse housing. 

Throughout this work, Sammi supported individuals and families at their most vulnerable, often in urgent need of safe and suitable temporary accommodation.

Time and again, she saw how difficult it was to secure genuinely appropriate placements. Many of the options available were under-resourced, poorly managed and failed to provide the level of support residents were promised. Discharging homeless households into so-called supported accommodation became a constant frustration, as it was clear that much of this provision offered little more than a roof, driven by financial gain rather than meaningful outcomes.

These experiences highlighted a clear gap in the sector and sparked the vision for R&S Housing.

R&S Housing was created to offer temporary and transitional accommodation that is ethical, supportive and person-centred. Our aim is to provide more than just housing. We take a holistic approach that empowers residents to rebuild stability, develop independence and move forward toward sustainable tenancies. Support is grounded in real-life needs, covering a broad range of practical, emotional and social areas.

At our core, we are community-focused, values-led, and committed to doing good. R&S Housing exists to ensure that temporary accommodation is not a dead end, but a meaningful step toward a safer, more independent future.
