Temporary Accommodation

Here at R&S Housing, we understand the significant pressures faced by Housing Officers on a daily basis and the challenges involved in sourcing appropriate, safe, and available temporary accommodation. Our temporary accommodation service has been developed to support local authorities by providing high-quality, compliant placements that reduce pressure while delivering positive outcomes for residents.

Our temporary accommodation is available exclusively via local authority referral for individuals and families who have made a homeless application. Placements are offered with flexible lengths of stay, tailored to individual circumstances and move-on planning.

All accommodation provided is self-contained, with residents having access to their own en-suite bathroom and kitchenette, as well as full access to communal kitchen and laundry facilities. As such, placements do not constitute B&B accommodation, in line with homelessness legislation.

The service is overseen by a fully qualified Housing Officer with over eight years’ experience working within local authorities.  Weekly check-ins are carried out with all residents, alongside regular room monitoring. Relevant information is shared appropriately with the referring local authority Housing Officer to ensure continuity, transparency, and effective case management.

Residents are supported with housing benefit applications, ongoing housing applications and access to food parcels where required, ensuring immediate needs are met while longer-term solutions are progressed.

Accommodation consists of fully furnished double rooms with en-suite walk-in showers. Bedding is provided, and each room includes a private fridge/freezer and kitchenette area. Occupancy sizes range from single occupants up to families of four.

Communal areas are modern, well maintained and overseen by on-site staff. Facilities include a fully equipped communal kitchen, a comfortable living space with Netflix, board games, books and toys. An enclosed garden area with outdoor dining furniture is also accessible.

The property is located in Redditch, Worcestershire, within close proximity to transport links and local amenities, supporting residents’ access to services, education, employment and community resources.

Our temporary accommodation service is designed to provide stability, dignity and reassurance during periods of housing crisis, while supporting local authorities to meet their statutory duties effectively.
